Description

Incredible mobile 1930's bookmatched Burl Walnut bar with Quartersawn Birdseye Maple serving surface, also known as an "envelope bar".  The top panels, side panels and front doors all open outward to convert the cabinet into a full service cocktail center for serious entertaining!

The bookmatched burls on this cabinet are exceptional with their large and spectacular burl patterns in deep rich coloration. The bar serving surface is veneered in highly desirable Quartersawn Birdseye Maple (most envelope bars had Formica serving surfaces). Two sliding glass doors in the rear of the cabinet open to allow the bartender access to glassware and liquor bottles. Two original chromium juicers and the original polished chrome serving tray provide the full complement of bar service accoutrement. The original lamp is seen in the top rear of the cabinet, controlled by the original "on-off" push button.

An original curved plate glass is inset into the serving surface that allows visibility to the section immediately below. This cabinet is on casters for easy movement to where full featured cocktail service may be needed in your home or office.

This piece has been carefully hand stripped and refinished to an exceptional mirror-like high gloss using Deco-Dence's trademark Italian polyester finish that is totally water and alcohol impervious and extremely resilient to bumps, bruises and scratches.

Our Italian finish is world-class ... found on the interiors of private jets, yachts, and motorcoaches and on only the highest end pieces by luxury cabinet makers such as Dakota Jackson and Brueton.  With just a little TLC your Deco-Dence piece will look absolutely fabulous for decades and decades to come ... providing on ROI unmatched by any Gallery!

This is one of the finest examples of a vintage 1930's envelope bar on the market today! Closed the bar measures 32 1/2" wide x 42 3/4" tall x 16 1/2" deep .... with the top serving surface panels open the bar measures 62 1/2" wide.

Note: this envelope bar just sold.  Deco-Dence Gallery & Studio has another envelope bar in our stock that we have already started the refinishing work on ... please inquire!
