Description

Lovely pair of wall sconces. Original antique backplates and old shades.

These sconces have a shield style backplate topped with a design reminiscent of a mock crown. The design is re-echoed in the fitter and the top of the shade for a nice cohesive appearance. A pewter look with brass accented backplates.

The shades are nice hand blown shades with just the slightest touch of cut pattern which is hard to see the pictures. They are in excellent condition.

The metal, of the backplates, is cast iron with a lovely pewter finish. Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice. These sconces have been completely re-wired with new sockets and all new wire in our UL listed workshop. Note that we used the old fashion rylon twisted wire which is visible since it runs along the curved arms. It becomes part of the decorative aspects of the sconces.

Since the shade is so tall, we think it is effective to use those long tubular bulbs that fit into desk lamps. They are called T10 bulbs and are readily available in a 60 watt, or less, size.

Measurements: The Overall sconce height is 11”. The maximum width is 4 1/4”. It will project into the room, from the wall 5 1/2”. The backplate measures: 4 1/4” wide by 10” tall.

$ 350.00 for the complete pair... plus careful packaging and shipping
