Description

Guillermo Arizta "Le Champ de Patatas" (Field of Potatoes), 24 5/8 x 19 1/2 in. image, 29 3/4 x 22 in. sheet, excellent condition, archivally matted and framed. Arizta was born in Mexico in 1949. He now lives and works in Paris. Arizta explores all media: painting, sculpture, lithography, drawing, film, installation, photo, and even realized a design for “The Little Prince” with the American Theatre Group. He has exhibited extensively in Europe, Turkey, the United States and Mexico. His use of overlaid disparate images produces art that is both entertaining and shocking or political. “Le Champ de Patatas” is a play on the words in Spanish for potatoes (patatas) and Pope (Papa). He superimposes images of both in this striking contemporary lithograph.
