Peana (Base) of the immaculate Virgin. (13in H x 12 1/2in W x12 1/2in D) In Catholic iconography the Imaculate Virgin stands on a world that it entwined by a serpent, with an apple and cresent moon. This "peana" (base) is polychromed and at one time had a statue of the Immaculate Virgin (Mary) rising up from the center of the base.
