Isa, I am beyond words. I am heartbroken. Even though I hadn't been around in years, I thought of you and Ric often and how much I used to enjoy coming to the old gallery and just hanging out with you two. I bought the skyscraper bookcase and a bunch of other stuff that Ric so gratiously allowed me to acquire. He recognized my intense love for art deco and he taught me so much. I love telling people the story of the crazy week I spent buying and trading with him when I was insanely manic on prednisone. It was the most fun I think I ever had. I've thought of you two many times over the years because I could never think of him without thinking of you. My fibromyalgia progressed to such a point that I can only leave my house a handful of times a year. I had just looked up the store again because ironically i found a pair of lamps that were attributed to Frankyl on 1st dibs and I was going to bring them to him to see what he thought. Actually I had shown them to him years ago and he wasn't impressed : ) They've been sitting behind my couch for over 20 yrs. I was so looking forward to discussing them with him. My condolences to you and your family and I hope I get to see you again. I hope you won't be offended when I say I loved Ric very much and I can't imagine how hard it will be for you without him. Dear Isa and family, My sincerest condolences for a loss we all feel. What a generous, knowledgible Deco enthusiast. He shared his enthusiasm with all of us. Fifty years of acquiring and selling superb items that we all continue to enjoy. His book is a glimpse at that dedicated scholarship. As a past president of the Chicago Art Deco Society, I know our membership will be shocked as I am to learn of Ric's passing. It is our collective loss. So happy he saw the book completed. Our deepest sympathy to Isa and all who knew and loved Ric. Truly a life well lived!
