I grew up in Miami, arriving here in 1959. It was a fabulous place. Very rustic west of Biscayne Boulevard and yet very very trendy and with it once you got to the Fountainbleau on Miami Beach. South Beach was still just a bunch of hotels that "once had been something" and all the action was North of 40th Street and Collins. Morris Lapidus (whom I was lucky enough to meet in the late 1990's had been the Architect that designed the Fountainbleau for Ben Novack and many other private homes in Miami Beach. Surfside 6 starring Troy Donahue was not necessarily filmed there but was the "stage" for the show which showed the Boom Boom room continually.
Further North, there was The Castaways (where I went after my High School Prom)....and the Deauville (where we had the Prom)... and Miami is so changed now. This movie should be a winner!!! In the 80's of course, the flavor of Miami Music changed with the advent of Gloria Estefan and the Miami sound machine!!! Your thoughts????
