This is a Burmese Shan dry lacquer Buddha head. Most of these were made by farmers in the Shan States of Burma during the 18th century and into the 20th century. It is hollow and made of layers of lacquer soaked cloth. It is in excellent condition with expected wear and loss to the gilding as shown in the pictures. It measures approximately 19" tall, 8" wide, 8" deep. The stand is included.
