Description

This is a lighted Art Deco display cabinet made in France and attributed to designer Clement Rousseau. It is done in mahogany veneer with a diamond bookmatch pattern. The secondary wood is oak and instead of his usual shagreen, he trimmed this in hand carved ebony. It retains the original Art Deco fabric in perfect condition. Each door and drawer has a lock and the original key is present. The piece is signed and dated by the designer in the carving of the ebony trim, as shown. Condition is excellent with the following minor mentionables: There is a slender 2 inch chip at the back of one of the removable glass shelves; The lock of one of the drawers does not lock; The wiring for the light has been updated to modern American standards. Please contact us for price.
