Back in 2012 when Ric and I decided to move our MODERNISM.COM domain name into a portal for other dealers, we had three goals:
1. Maintain the high quality of merchandise for which Modernism Gallery was known.
2. Provide a safe place for our clients to shop without having to worry about fraudulent transactions or dealers that did not live up to their promises and
3. Share with other dealers what we had learned about running websites since our first one opened in 1995.
We have met those goals many times over. We work with out dealers the same way we would want to be hosted on a website. We charge no commissions and do not get involved in the actual sale of the item. We provide marketing for the items and our name to back up the dealers we select for our website. We now have OVER 5,000 items listed on the website and new dealers are coming on board all the time even though we have not spent a lot of time "marketing" to dealers. I welcome your comments!!!
We have accepted new ideas from both dealers and customers alike - our latest addition is a 'WISH LIST' which will be available to both our clients and our dealers to help in the search for that 'PARTICULAR ITEM' ....the way it works is "the searcher" fills in the information and photos if available and every one of our dealers can access that list and proceed to help in the search for the item....that rare Rohde or Paul Evans piece, right! Look at the top of our website for an Aladdin's lamp icon.
