In 1953 Frank Lloyd Wright designed an exhibition titled A Long-Awaited Tribute: FLW's Usonian House & Pavilion, which was installed on the 5th Avenue site designated for construction of the Guggenheim Museum. The exhibit consisted of a temporary pavilion housing renderings and plans, and a complete 1700-square foot Usonian House, transported to the site and re-assembled on an parking lot next to the Sackler townhouse. Wright referred to these as "...the first Wright buildings erected in New York City", thus the title "A Long-Awaited Tribute". The current display recalling the 1953 exhibition is on-going.
