New Chicago Antiques + Art + Design Show Coming to Merchandise Mart in Spring 2017 Announces Charity Beneficiary of Preview Gala (Chicago) The new Chicago Antiques + Art + Design Show featuring 75 premier international exhibitors presenting fine antique furniture, decorative and fine arts in gallery settings at the Chicago Merchandise Mart's seventh floor exhibition space on May 18-21 will benefit the Illinois Executive Mansion Association. All proceeds from an early-buying preview party held Thursday evening, May 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. will benefit the Illinois Executive Mansion Association. Former Governor James R. Thompson will serve as Honorary Chair of the opening night party which will feature cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, live music, and an opportunity for serious collectors to shop the show before it opens to the general public on Friday through Sunday. Preview tickets for the Collectors Circle are $500 per person for 6 p.m. entry, and Supporter Level are $150 per person for 7 p.m. entry. Alls preview attendees will receive a show catalog and return entry all weekend. The Illinois Executive Mansion Association is a private, charitable corporation created in 1972. Its non-profit board aims to preserve and oversee the restoration of the People's House in Springfield. That mission has never been more urgent and important than it is today. The Illinois Executive Mansion Association has begun a major restoration project to preserve the People's House for future generations. It is critical the building be repaired so all Illinoisans have a chance to learn from it now and in the future. The show will continue through the weekend of May 19-21, open Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m . to 7 p.m., and Sunday from Noon to 5 p.m. It is expected to attract major dealers, designers, curators and collectors from across the country.
