Description

The Horse bronze sculpture with the melting clock as a saddle illustrates Dalí’s preoccupation with time and reminds of the transience of existence. The bronze horse modeled by Salvador Dalí is banking up in front of a little stick with one of Dalí’s melting clocks. On the back of the horse is also one of the melting clocks of Dalí, which is his most famous symbol since the painting  -La persistance de la mémoire 1931-.
The horse is portrayed as the representation of life weighed down and harnessed by time, symbolic of mans fleeting voyage through life.
The sculpture is signed on a horse paw.
Measures: 20 inches high x 23 inches wide, the marble base is 19 inches by 7 inches.
