Thomas Françcis Cartier
1879-1943
Thomas François Cartier was born 1879 in Marseille and studied at the École des Beaux-Arts under Georges Gardet (1863-1939)
. Cartier especially created animal sculptures of hunting dogs, lions and other big cats, characterized by their great accuracy. From 1904, he exhibited his works in the Paris Salon and was awarded a Gold Medal in 1927.
He also created several Art Deco subjects.
