Maurice Delavier
1902-1986
Born in Paris, Delavier studied as a painter, engraver, and illustrator.
He participated to the Salon des Artistes de Montagnes, Salon des Artistes Français, Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Indépendants.
Delavier was captured during WWII as a German prisoner of war and spent time at Stalag VI-A. While imprisoned, Delavier was still able to draw and upon the war's end, he published a book of sixty drawings illustrating his life in the German camp.
He went on to open an art studio and flower shop in Paris with his wife.
