Colorful ceramic vase depicting an abstract sunburst by Jean Lurcat (French 1892-1966). The vase is signed on the base and numbered 13/25. A main representative of the École de Paris, Lurçat is known as a painter, tapestry maker and ceramicist. During the 1950s Lurçat collaborated with the Sant-Vicens ceramic studios near Perpignan. His ceramic designs resemble those of his tapestries with large areas of vibrant color within sharp outlines. His work are in numerous museum collections worldwide
