Description

Created by Giacomo Balla in a limited editon of 9 this great mid-century modern tapestry was produced by Elio Palmisano, one of the premier carpet and rug businesses in the world.  This one was first designed in 1920 and produced in 1968.  Hand Knotted perfection.  It is 18" wide x 46.2" long.
 
Giacomo Balla was born in Turin on July 18, 1871. He studied in Turin until 1895 when he moved to Rome. Balla was a Futurist and signed the second Futurist painting manifesto in 1910 along with Boccioni, Carlo Carra, Luigi Russolo and Severini, exhibiting with the group in 1913.  In the United States, his work was shown in the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco.   He died in Rome in 1958.  His timeless designs such as this one have been excecuted to the highest standards of quality.
