This wonderful modernist couple all dressed up in their finest cubist clothes with a rather Bauhaus point of view, so 20th Century. This original gouache and tempura with lots of nice background brush detail was executed in the 1930's by one of Denmark's most successful modernist painters Vilheim Lundstrom. It was he who introduced French Cubism to Denmark. The painting is signed "VL" in lower right corner. Painting has been re-framed to museum standards.
