Description

This pair of 1930’s American art deco “Flip” sconces were designed by Edward Kent for the Railley Corporation of Cleveland, Ohio. The three graduated conical shades project light from the top while reflecting light from the spaces between the shades. Constructed from polished aluminum with black highlights, the sconces “Flip” …. They can function as an ordinary sconce and throw light toward the ceiling or, with the turn of a wing nut, point downward as an excellent reading light. The aluminum has been polished and the sconces have been rewired. They are marked on the back “Railley Corp – Cleveland O.” and “Designed by Edward Kent”. Each sconce measures 18” high with the shade down, 10 ¼” high with the shade up, 14” from the wall and 9 ½” wide. We have five of these sconces. You can purchase one, two, three, four or all five.
