This American art deco nickel plated desk lamp was manufactured in the 1930’s by the Markel Corporation of Buffalo, New York. The “speed” era is represented in the lamp with raised “speed” lines on the bottom and stepped rings on the top of the swiveling shade. The base has incised speed lines around a stepped shaft with three “ray gun” disks. An art deco stepped finial sits atop the lamp. The lamp is 14” tall
