Description

This American mid-century modern design eight drawer chest was designed by George Nakashima (1905 -1990) ca 1950 for his Origins Line, produced by the Widdicomb Furniture company, Grand Rapids, Michigan. The chest is constructed with east Indian laurel veneers and solid walnut legs. The chest is 72" wide, 22 1/2" deep and 32" high. The top drawer is branded inside "George Nakashima" and has the remains of a cloth Widdicomb Grand Rapids tag. The underside of the drawer is stenciled "10/58" (the date of manufacture), "207" (the model number) and "Sundra". The inset drawer pulls are brass. The chest is in original excellent condition
