1930s flask-shaped vase by renowned French ceramicist Jean Mayodon depicting a nude figure riding a stylized deer. Impressed maker's mark on the bottom and beautiful enamel glaze. Some of his most readily recognized large-scale works were made for the ocean liner Normandie, itself an icon of Art Deco era design. Mayodon began showing ceramics in 1919 and participated in international exhibitions throughout his career.
