Description

Anthroposophical Serving Trolley by Felix Kayser, designed C.1935 and built in 1950. Solid oak and oak veneer with brass wheels. Perfect condition, refinished with loving care--one leg where the wheel attaches has been repaired but it is all but unnoticeable. (Height 30in. x width 21 1/8in. x length 36 3/8in. This serving trolley is exceptionally well made, all joints and shapes are made with extra care. The top side flange is in a wide chevron shape which is repeated with a slightly steeper chevron on the ends of the trolley. Provenance: From an anthroposophical household, Horchst near Frankfurt, family ownership until 2012. (Anthroposophy, a philosophy founded by Rudolf Steiner, postulates the existence of an objective, intellectually comprehensible spiritual world accessible to direct experience through inner development.) Wickipedia. Since purchasing this trolley at Dorotheum Auction in Vienna, Austria I have seen several more Anthroposophical pieces for sale in Austria. However I have not found one for sale at any other European auction house. This piece would work wonderfully as a lamp table in the living room as well as a bar or serving cart.
