Wolfgang Hoffmann (1900-1969) designed this sofa end, or occasional table for the Howell Company, Geneva Illinois ca. 1935. The table is known as the No. 301 end table in the company’s 1935 catalog. Two black lacquered demilune shelves are held in place by bars of flat band steel on each end while three bands of flat steel run down the front and back to form the base. The table is 26” wide, 13” deep and 22” high. It is marked with the Howell decal, has been re-lacquered and re-chromed. It is in excellent condition.
