Text by Ruth Vassos and illustrated by John Vassos. Vassos helped define the modernist art movement via his work as designer for RCA in addition to his illustrated books. Via RCA, John was instrumental in the original designs of the earliest televisions, mid-century microphones, radios, consoles etc... His industrial art is among the widest spread and most important of the 20th century. This book, one of Vassos' most important, is illustrated with 22 art deco inspired plates.

Slight toning to rear endpaper. Front endpaper excised. Slight scuffing and wear to edges and spine. A solid copy. PO bookplate. There appear to be at least three different binding cloths used in the construction of this first edition release. It is assumed that this is the second state binding.
