Three Mies Van Der Rohe Barcelona Chairs

Reference:

MPD-001970
Description

The Barcelona Chair was designed in 1929 by Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe and Lilly Reich for the German Pavilion for the International Exposition of 1929 in Barcelona, Spain. Contrary to the Bauhaus ideals of creating furniture for the common man, the Barcelona Chair was designed for the Spanish Royalty to oversee the opening ceremonies of the 1929 exhibition. The chairs form is a refinement of, Curule Chairs (folding chairs used by Roman aristocracy). These chairs are 29" wide, 30" deep, and 30" high. Three are available.
