This is a Bertil Vallien art glass sculpture with stand from the Kosta Boda Gallery. The sculpture is part of Vallien's "Brain Series" and depicts a three-dimensional human head. The head is made of a translucent blue glass. The face of the piece has a sponge-like texture and features a sage-green rectangular mask. Orange accents on the forehead and within the eyes peek through the green coloring, creating a dramatic contrast. The piece is cut to balance askew on a black wooden block, but a bit of adhesive may be recommended for added stability. The head is in excellent condition with no damage of any kind. The included wooden block does have some very minuscule scuffs and scratches. The head measures approximately 3" in length, 1.5" wide, and 2" deep from the tip of the nose to the back of the head. The stand measures 3.5" long, 3.5" wide, and 2" high.
