Estelle Halper

Estelle Halper (1918–1980) lived and worked in New York City and Eastchester, New York until the end of her life. She was a staff instructor at the Westchester Art Workshop and founded the pottery program at the Hudson River Museum where she taught from 1956-1978.

Judith Kensley McKie

Judith Kensley McKie was born in 1944 and lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  She attended the Rhode Island School of Design and began making furniture in the early 1970's.  She is for the most part self-taught as a furniture maker.  Her degree was in painting.  Her primitive designs are influenced by the indigenous cultures. 

Miriam Carpenter

Miriam Carpenter is an artist, researcher, and designer based in New Hope, Pennsylvania. After graduating from RISD in 2006, she designed furniture alongside Mira Nakashima for seven years. In 2014, she was awarded the Windgate ITE Residency sponsored by the Center for Art in Wood together with four wood artists from Japan, Canada, West Ghana, and the United States. The year following, she lived, worked, and studied with furniture makers, sculptors, scholars, and environmental stewards in Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand.

Airbnb will collaborate with Pedro&Juana, an emerging Mexico City-based design studio founded by Ana Paula Ruiz Galindo and Mecky Reuss. At Design Miami/ 2016, Airbnb and Pedro&Juana will present Sobremesa, a lively exploration of shared space. “Sobremesa” is the Mexican tradition of sharing time and space lingering around the table after a meal in casual conversation.

Walking along Ocean Drive and about 7th Street I looked over to the beach side and saw what looked like a roof peeking out above the sea grapes!   Of course I had to go see what it was!   I found a Surreal doorway planted alongside a building as if Salavador Dali had taken one of his dreams and brought it to life on South Beach!
Actually, I was able to see the really cool pavillions that will be used for some of the SCOPE and UNTITLED Art Fairs:
