Description

An important Belgian art nouveau dining set attributed to Henry van de Velde (1863-1957). The set consists of a dining table with three leaves, eight chairs, a buffet and a sideboard. This magnificently crafted solid mahogany set features hand carved roses on drawers, doors, chair back plates, and the table apron. Vertical brass stringing and inlaid mother of pearl details all add a unified sense of rich elegance. There are bronze kick-plates on the buffet and server and bronze sabots on the table and the front legs of the chairs. The table is 43” wide by 53 1/2” long (91 1/2” long with the three leaves) and 30” high. The buffet is 79” long, 23 1.2” deep and 43” high and the server is 55” long 21” deep and 471/2” high. The set has been professionally restored and is in impeccable condition and only awaits your choice of fabric for the chairs.
