  • Walking along Ocean Drive and about 7th Street I looked over to the beach side and saw what looked like a roof peeking out above the sea grapes!   Of course I had to go see what it was!   I found a Surreal doorway planted alongside a building as if Salavador Dali had taken one of his dreams and brought it to life on South Beach!
Actually, I was able to see the really cool pavillions that will be used for some of the SCOPE and UNTITLED Art Fairs:

  • Ric Emmett wrote this book as a sequel to his first Gomo book:  The Adventures of Gomo the Rubber Duck which was published in 2012.   Starting Gomo for President in 2012, he set it aside while he finished his book on Amercian Art Deco Furniture which was published in 2015.   All the notes he made for this book as well as what photos went with what text were very clearly marked by Ric so both Iza Emmett and Amanda MacMaster were able to bring the book to life!

  • Wonderful Paul McCobb designed gentleman's chest tall. Bi-folding doors cover five pull-out drawers and a slew of cubbies for added storage. Two additional drawers on the top as well as a fold up mirror and electrical outlet for your shaver. This chest retains it's original factory finish, which is in an 8+ condition. It measures 50" tall by 48" wide and 19" deep. Original label in top drawer.  Rare to find an original Irwin Collection green finish in the Calvin Line.

  • This is an antique Art Nouveau etagere in bamboo with chinoiserie detail decorating each shelf surface. It is very good condition, with a minor chip here and there in the chinoiserie, as shown. This can be purchased alone or with one or both of our other bamboo pieces to make a suite.

  • What's the difference between vintage and antique?
This is a question that is important to us at Modernism.com because our dealers use these words often. We are here to clear up any confusion!
    The simple definitions:
VINTAGE: The word VINTAGE describes an item that is at least 20 years+ old.
ANTIQUE: The word ANTIQUE describes an item that is 100 years old or older.
