Description

New York: E.P. Dutton, Inc., 1929. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. 9 1/8 X 12 1/4 Inches. Very Good.

Original publisher blue cloth with silver decoration and title work to front cover. Signed and inscribed, "To Ernest E. Fairbanks, with much admiration from the illustrator, John Vassos, in New York City - October, 1930". Vassos helped define the modernist art movement via his work as designer for RCA in addition to his illustrated books. Via RCA, John was instrumental in the original designs of the earliest televisions, mid-century microphones, radios, consoles etc... His industrial art is among the widest spread and most important of the 20th century.

A bit of scuffing to boards. Wear to head and foot of spine. Lacks original DJ. Title stamping to spine a bit faded. A nice copy overall.
