A monumental turn of the century Japanese folding screen with inlaid mother-of-pearl cranes having inset glass eyes.
The cranes fly among foliage with delicate inset mother-of-pearl leaves. The panels are supported by exquisitely carved frames with bird and floral borders.
The screen rolls and positions on brass casters. The reverse shows inset mother-of-pearl leaves drifting in the wind.
The screen is signed on the lower left panel. Each panel measures 78" H by 38.5" W.
