This bronze sculpture of a pensive nude lady and her Borzoi (Russian Wolfhound) was sculpted by Armand Goddard (active ca 1915 to 1935 in France). The bobbed hair cut speaks to a late 1920’s creation, both the dog and the lady are well modeled with the dog having a darker patina than the lady. The Bronze sits on its original slightly stepped marble base and the overall height is 11”, the base is 14 ½” wide and 8 1/8” deep. It is signed in the base “A Godard”. The bronze is pictured on page 157 of Bryan Catley’s “Art Deco and Other Figures”.
