This Swedish art deco Pewter letter opener was designed by Silvia Stave (1908 - 1944) for the Stockholm firm CG Hallberg Guilsdmeds. Stave designed for the firm from 1929 to 1937 and designed this letter opener in 1934. The 10 ½" long opener is sculpted in pewter and has a wonderful patina. Stave used the image of young lady and a sunflower above a geometric wave line on other objects of the period. The opener is signed "C.E Hallberg".
