This is a Daum Crystal pate de verre sculpture titled "Love Owl" by artist Xavier Carnoy. The owl is depicted in a standing position with its wings wrapped around its sides. The sculpture is rendered in an abstract style as the owl's face and body have been carved away leaving a small peak at the center of the forehead, reminiscent of an owl's large eyes and pointed beak. The crystal ranges from a royal blue to rich amber from head to tail. The right side of the tip of the tail is etched with the artist's signature "X. Carnoy," while the left side is etched with "Daum France 00344000." The sculpture is in excellent condition. It does have two fleabites, both on the bottom edge, as shown in the photographs. There is no structural damage of any kind. It measures approximately 4.5" tall, 3" wide, and 2.5" long.
