Description

Henri de Waroquier, "Profile," image 10 1/4 x 8 1/8 in, frame 21 1/2 in 17 1/2 in, excellent condition, archivally matted and framed. De Waroquier was a painter, sculptor and engraver who was born in Paris on January 8, 1881 and died in Paris, December 31, 1970. He had an exceptionally long career. Since the very beginning of the 20th century, he was accustomed to seeing his works figure prominently in major annual exhibitions including the Salon d'Automne in France, which he served as president, and the Society of Painters, Engravers, and Independents, of which he was a founding member. This Art Deco influenced drawing is as fresh as it was the day it was created.
