The String® System was designed in 1949. Over the last 60 years it has evolved from being a ground-breaking concept to becoming one of the most loved pieces of classic Scandinavian design, being a favorite of both designers and architects.  There is an almost infinite variety of combinations thanks to the slim panels it’s possible to create a shelf large enough for any number of books and objects that still looks light and airy.  The measurements are fixed and have never been altered since they were first designed and marketed.   The shelves can always be rebuilt, redisgned and transformed to a customer’s specifications
