A wonderful French art deco dinanderie vase by Lucien Gerfaux in brass with silver metal incrustation. The brass body is cut where the silver design will be laid into the champleve sections and then subjected to heat to fuse the metals. The term dinanderie comes from the Flemish town Dinant where brassware objects were made from the Middle Ages on. The vase is signed (in inlaid silver) "L. Gerfaux" and measures 5" high.
