This impressive and elegant French art deco dining room suite was designed by and manufactured in the atelier of Jules Leleu (1883 – 1961) in the 1930’s. Constructed of costly solid macassar ebony and veneers with bronze fittings and sabots, the suite consists of a sideboard, server, dining table and eight chairs. The table has a hidden mechanism which extends to support two 15 ½” “tablecloth” leaves. The chairs are covered in glove soft pumpkin colored leather. The suite has been refinished, the chairs reupholstered. The sideboard measures 101” wide x 24” deep and 36 ½” high. The server is 59” wide, 20” deep and 38 ½” high. The table is 78 ¾” long x 39 ½” wide and 29” high. The chairs are 19” wide and deep and 42” high.
